Community Involvement & Annual Events
Listed below are a number of annual events or community engagements that Alpenrose Dairy is directly involved with.
VELODROME RACING
Alpenrose Velodrome is a truly unique facility. As one of only 20 bicycle racing tracks in the US, it is considered one of the most exciting tracks in the United States. Built for the 1967 National Championships, the Olympic size track is used throughout the summer and is host to national and international championships as well.
LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES
BATTER UP! What started as a simple ball field built for Henry Cadonau’s grandkids to play on, Alpenrose Field has become the site for baseball games, including the girls Little League Softball World Series. Since 1956, teams from around the world come to see if they have what it takes to win it all in this popular, action-filled summertime classic.
MIDGET SPRINT RACING
START YOUR ENGINES! Quarter Midget Sprint Racing at Alpenrose originally started as a dirt track that was built in the 1950’s by Ray Birkland, Henry Cadonau’s son-in-law. He built cars for the family kids to race and soon became a member of Quarter Midgets of America, sponsoring races at the track. And the action hasn’t slowed down since then.
EASTER EGG HUNT
SPRINGTIME’S FAMILY TRADITION. We love it when parents who bring their children and grandchildren to the Alpenrose Dairy Easter Egg Hunt, say they fondly recall coming here when they were kids. With tons of prizes, including giant stuffed animals, this is one of the biggest and most anticipated Easter Egg Hunts west of the Mississippi.
The 57th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday April 20th, 2019.
CHRISTMAS IN DAIRYVILLE
A HO, HO, HOLIDAY TRADITION. During the holidays, Dairyville, a replica of a western frontier town, transforms into a winter wonderland. Animals are on display in nostalgic Storybook Lane, vintage storefronts, local choirs singing, holiday movies in the Opera House and, of course, Santa. Christmas in Dairyville is where lasting memories begin.
ALPENROSE AND THE 4-H
A COMOONITY PARTNERSHIP. 4-H helps young people develop life skills as they participate in hands-on projects like animal husbandry, gardening, cooking, science and service learning. And as members of your community, we are proud to partner with them through our 4-H Discovery Farm at Alpenrose Dairy. It truly is farm fun at its finest!
